Position Summary: The Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Mayo Clinic is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in both strategic and operational leadership in the development, deployment and integration of clinical information systems to support nurses, allied health staff, clinicians, and patients across the Mayo system.
This role presents a unique opportunity for a seasoned candidate to partner with the CMIO and CIO of Mayo Clinic to leverage clinical information systems that support the entire clinical practice. This role reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and has accountability for nursing and AHS in informatics across all of Mayo Clinic.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for strategic and operational nursing leadership in the development, deployment, optimization and integration of clinical information systems across the continuum
  • Provides clinical leadership to advance utilization of clinical information systems consistent with Mayo’s strategic direction of optimizing a single EHR across the system
  • Leads the coordination efforts of Mayo Nursing and AHS across the system who support clinical informatics
  • Working with the CMIO and CIO, provides a liaison role between nursing and information systems leadership, to ensure clinical multi-disciplinary leadership of all clinical IT projects and maintenance of clinical IT systems
  • Assists with identification, evaluation, and assessment of new care delivery technology, developing recommendations on the impact of integration with existing workflow and systems
  • Leads the design & execution of technology-enabled process change that maximizes patient safety, quality of care and operational efficiency


Qualifications: Successful candidate will need to have a Master's degree in Nursing Informatics or a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with a Master’s degree in Informatics, or a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a post Graduate Informatics Certificate. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressive administrative line accountability experience, including nursing experience in both clinical practice and clinical informatics roles.


Additional Qualifications: A Doctoral Degree – DNP or PhD in Nursing Informatics is preferred.
Successful candidates should have strong leadership skills with an ability to lead and engage across multiple roles and service lines; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; high degree of collaboration, negotiation and consensus building skills; ability to motivate, engage and develop strong teams at varying levels of the organization; demonstrated systems thinker, strategic, innovative, and enthusiastic


License or Certification: Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
Hours/Pay Period: 80
Schedule Details: Monday through Friday - Days.
