Position description

The Endoscopy Technician I is responsible for performing delegated activities related to the care of the patient and overall team support. Participates as a member of the health care team and accepts delegation from the nurse or supervisor and provider in meeting needs of the patient/family. Endoscopy Technician I also assists procedure techs by helping stock room supplies, and helping with room turn-around. Endoscopy Technician I also will complete opening and closing duties of the unit. Endoscopy Technician I reprocesses endoscopes by manual washing followed by use of reprocessing machine. This requires high-level attention to detail abilities. 2 year commitment to Endoscopy required.


High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Minimum one year patient care experience.

Additional qualifications

Knowledge of multiple electronic applications. Knowledge in surgical or central service functions, GI endoscopy equipment and procedures. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. Ability to work independently and/or in a team setting. Experience performing multiple tasks within a work shift. Works flexible hours to meet the demands of the work unit.

License or certification

Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required within 60 days of hire. Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) competency.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $15.94 per hour.

80 hours per 2 week pay period

Schedule details

The primary shift for this position is 10 am - 6:30 pm. Variable shifts as needed between 7 am - 6:30 pm. Overtime as needed. Monday- Friday, no weekends, no holidays.
