The Department of General Internal Medicine is in search for a Nurse Practitioner to join their suburban based team.This position focuses on providing primary care to patients in a busy, medical home-designated internal medicine practice with an established team-based care model. S/he will be independently seeing patients of all age groups from young adults through geriatrics, within the scope of NP practice. S/he will be working collaboratively with the physicians to provide care for the practices chronically ill patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease and also will be seeing acute patients in the practices walk-in clinic. The nurse practitioner will be responsible for promoting organizational values of patient and visitor satisfaction by demonstrating courtesy and respect for all their families, visitors, and other employees. S/he will need to demonstrate competence in the assessment, treatment, and care of patients served. All nurse practitioners function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The CRNP hired by the Department of Medicine will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. The identified collaborating physician will evaluate the CRNP's Clinical Skills and Competence as part of their annual performance review.
Graduate of a NLN- approved school of nursing. \n\nRN and CRNP licensure in the State of Pennsylvania. \n\nMust have current CPR certification. \n\nCompletion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program with a MSN. \n\nNational Certification Board is required.\n \nPrior nurse practitioner experience is preferable.\n\nThis position is a Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week Hours may be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the department.
