The Department of Orthopedic Surgery specializing in Oncology is searching for a BSN prepared RN with 15 plus months of experience working as a RN. This role is a full time, day shift position and the nurse will be responsible for working with patients in the Ambulatory Ortho-Oncology practice, oncology experience is helpful but not necessary.The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model.The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague possesses the knowledge, skills and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains.The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to the elderly.The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork.The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague works closely with the inter-professional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized carebased on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age appropriate considerations of assigned patients.Specifics related to this position in orthopedic oncology:1) The team includes 2 orthopedic oncology surgeons, one physician assistant, and one administrative coordinator.2) The RN will be required to prep outpatient clinic patients in Epic related to PMH, PSH, SH, FH, ROS, and medications/allergies). The RN will help determine   appropriate imaging required for sufficient patient evaluation and order the specific imaging. 3) The RN will be expected to learn and manage clinical questions related to orthopedics and orthopedic oncology, specifically about pre-/postoperative care and wound issues.4) The RN will learn and perform basic procedures including stitch/staple removal, surgical drain removal, wound assessment, and basic wound care for outpatients.5) The RN will consent patients for bio-bank tissue collection and ongoing research studies.6) The RN will work as part of a cohesive team and share responsibilities with the PA and administrative coordinator.

Bachelor's Degree BSN from an accredited school of nursing AND more than 15 months relevant professional nursing experience - Required\n\nRN with state licensure RN and BLS/ACLS/PALS per specialty - Required\n\nCertification in specialty - Preferred
