Penn Medicine has an exciting opportunity for Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants to join the Cardiology Advanced Practice (CAP) Interventional Cardiology Team (CAP-I).The Interventional Cardiology team manages patients with coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndrome who are undergoing evaluation and treatment with coronary revascularization. Another core component of the interventional service is the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients with valvular heart disease including aortic stenosis, mitral stenosis, and mitral regurgitation. Many innovative and highly specialized procedures are performed on our interventional patients including TAVRs, TMVRs, TTVRs, mitral clips, alcohol septal ablations, PFO/ASD closures, balloon valvuloplasty and high risk coronary angioplasty and stenting.The CAP- Interventional Cardiology team primarily cares for patients in cardiac progressive care unit but patients can also be in other heart/ vascular inpatient care areas, the cath lab recovery unit, and the post anesthesia care unit. The CAP- I team has both a primary and consult service structure. Though this is an interventional cardiology APP position, the CAP- I APP will also have the opportunity to work with the CAP-Heart Failure (Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant) service specifically during their weekend rotation and on an as needed basis.This is a high paced inpatient service where the Advanced Practice Provider provides comprehensive care including: admissions, daily clinical care and tasks, consults, and discharge planning. The Advanced Practice Provider is an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. The Advanced Practice Provider will work with highly specialized cardiologists who highly value the Advanced Practice Provider role and autonomy of the Advanced Practice Providers.This position will require a high level of independence, but are well supported with collaborative practice models. The high-impact clinical setting is dynamic, fast paced and high pressure. Good organizational skills and a strong knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology are essential. In this role there will be tremendous professional growth potential and the opportunity to participate in Penn Medicines tripartite mission of clinical care, research and education.All Advanced Practice Providers will function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body.The Advanced Practice Provider hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating/supervising physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee, and within the Human Resource guidelines.

Masters prepared as an acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant\nPennsylvania licensure as an ACNP or PA-C\nBLS and ACLS required\nExperience in cardiology and acute care preferred\nExperience in working with multidisciplinary teams highly valued
