Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Practice1.\tProvides age appropriate care for the population served. Gives consideration to growth & developmental phase of life, to age related factors such as thermal regulation, nutrition, medication administration, nutrition, safety and functional needs of the patient.2.\tUses appropriate resources for patients with special needs such as language barriers, sensory problems, altered cognition, cultural and religious needs.3.\tEnsures attention to patients physical, spiritual and emotional well being.4.\tDemonstrates competency in assessment skills (Includes admission and shift assessments).5.\tPerforms pain assessments and intervenes to optimally meet patients needs for comfort.6.\tPlans clinical care based on patients needs and uses available resources.7.\tPerforms clinical care in accordance with policy and procedure.8.\tPerforms peripheral venipuncture and peripheral and central vascular access care according to policy & procedure.9.\tEvaluates outcomes of nursing interventions and takes appropriate actions to move patient toward reaching goals of care.10.\tIdentifies situations that warrant patient rescue and takes appropriate action, e.g. Rapid Response or Code Blue/Pink.11.\tIntegrates principles of infection control & infection prevention into practice.12.\tAdheres to aseptic technique as appropriate.13.\tUses resources and references for reviewing policies and procedures, medications, and clinical information.14.\tPrioritizes and organizes work effectively within assigned shift.15.\tAssess the Ante partum patient, plans and initiates care and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions: Phlebotomy, Non stress testing, Biophysical profile,Amniocentesis,CVS16.\tMaintains patient safety through teaching patient about fetal movement, kick counts, reinforcing diet and medication instruction, self care, warning signs of complications of pregnancy.17.\tCoordinates plan of care for the fetal therapy patient.

Education Training and Experience\nBSN is required. \nExperience preferred, however training and specialty specific education programs are provided during orientation, and must be successfully completed as scheduled.\nBasic computer skills: keyboard, mouse use. Ability to complete data entry on clinical documentation screens. Ability to use email and internet. Ability to successfully complete on the job training for CCH computer programs.\nAbility to speak, read, write and understand English.\n\nLicensure/Certification \nCurrent Pennsylvania RN License. \nCPR certification required. \nMFM: AWHONN fetal monitoring \n\nMust meet specialty specific competency requirements.\n\n\nCertification in clinical specialty is preferred.
