General Summary StatementThe Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a member of the Electrophysiologist team and is responsible for co-management of Electrophysiology patients under the hospitals care. The PA-C works collaboratively with the Electophysiology physicians to perform physical exams, collect and analyze data, formulate medical diagnoses, perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order laboratory studies, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications, document patient history/diagnoses/treatment plan electronically and provide direct patient care and counseling.Essential Duties and Responsibilities¢\tProvide direct clinical services for adult patients according to established protocols. ¢\tComplete Pre-admission histories and physicals, and consultations. Document findings, noting pertinent normal and abnormal findings. Perform electronic documentation of daily progress notes.¢\tOrder and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests. Diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions. Formulate and implement treatment plan for acute illness. Document in the medical record.¢\tUtilize evidence-based clinical practice standards in making all clinical decisions. Incorporate clinical research findings in the development and implementation of standards of care.¢\tAssess the patient for change in status and institute appropriate interventions. Initiate necessary emergency interventions to stabilize the patient.¢\tProvide family-centered care by communicating with the family regarding the changing care needs of their family member. ¢\tPerform and participate in quality/performance improvement activities and clinical research.¢\tParticipate in hospital committees, quality projects, and EP monthly section meetings, mentor new employees.

Education\nGraduate from a Physician Assistant program and a Master of Medical Science degree\n\nExperience\nMinimum 2 years advanced practice experience in Electrophysiology required and device experience preferred. \nCompletion of clinical rotations in internal medicine per the accredited Physician Assistant program\n\nLicensure/Certifications: \nCurrent licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Pennsylvania\nNational Certification as an NCCPA \nBCLS, ACLS Certification\nMust demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine.
