The Eating Disorder Program provides a continuum of intensive and comprehensive medical, psychiatric, and nutritional services for patients with primary diagnosis of eating disorders frequently complicated by other psychiatric disorders as well as mild to severe medical complications.The Eating Disorders unit is comprised of 22 beds (9 pediatric beds and 13 adult beds)Program staff is an integral part of multi-disciplinary teams. Staff contributes expertise in bio psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, group therapy, family intervention, Psychoeducation, case management, activities of daily living and nutrition therapy.Program staff provides specialized and intensive psychiatric care to adults, adolescents, and children suffering from eating disorders as well as various co-occurring psychiatric illnesses (such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders). The focus of program staff is comprehensive assessment and prompt intervention with the goal of stabilizing the patients symptoms, increasing the patients and familys ability to manage the illness and mobilizing the patient toward and appropriate discharge and full reentry into the community.Registered Nurses are responsible for establishing a therapeutic relationship and an individualized plan of care with the patient for a defined period of time (length of stay on that unit) and for communicating that plan of care to his/her collaborative partners. The collaborative nurse follows the plan of care created by the Attending Nurse and the patient/family, making revisions based upon the patients response to treatment and changing needs. Registered Nurses are accountable for planning, delivering, coordinating, evaluating, and modifying the patients care for that defined period of time and for effectively transitioning that plan of care with attention to continuity across shift and settings of care. It is expected that the patients and/or families will know the name of the Attending Nurse, and the collaborative nurse. In order to achieve the defined outcomes of care, the registered nurse will assure that patients and families experience exceptional cooperation among all members of the health care team who treat them and each other with dignity, respect and sensitivity.

Education\n•\tGraduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of\n•\t\nRelated Work Experience\n•\tOne year recent nursing experience - preferred\n•\tActive NJ Registered Nurse license - required\n•\tBasic Life Saving certification (BLS) - required
