Position description
Applies administrative assistant experience to perform a variety of secretarial/clerical tasks. Is accountable for ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documents. Tasks may include transcribing correspondence, maintaining calendars; scheduling meetings; answering telephone and providing related follow-through; filing; preparing reports, meeting agenda and minutes, and presentation materials; processing reimbursement for travel and other professional expenses; and maintaining records. Routinely serves as a resource and mentor to others as opportunities arise. Demonstrates initiative, proficiency, and good judgement to optimize the time of those supported. Strong organizational and communication skills and a commitment to quality and excellence in service are important components of the role.
Experience: Requires knowledge of basic office equipment (computers, photocopiers, fax machines, etc.). Requires knowledge and experience working with basic and advanced computer software including all Microsoft Office software, remote servers, folder strategy for filing work electronically, web-based applications, database and spreadsheet management. Calendar maintenance, creating correspondence and presentation experience are also required. Requires excellent application of grammar, punctuation, and English usage. Must be self-directed with a high-level skills in problem-solving, organization, clerical aptitude, and interpersonal relations. Must be able to carry out duties independently without close supervisor and receive direction from multiple sources. Must be able to read and follow instructions and able to manage multiple tasks.
Education: Minimum of two year degree/diploma in an administrative assistant/secretarial or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Special Skills: Requires excellent use of computer and typing skills, time management skills, verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and a strong commitment to quality and excellence in service. Must demonstrate good decision-making and judgment as well as attention to detail and follow-through. Must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $17.56 per hour.

Monday through Friday; hours primarily 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Weekend schedule
No weekends or holidays.
