Position Summary 

The School of Nursing at The University of Tulsa seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track position to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs for the 2020-21 academic year beginning in August 2020. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience, teaching, and current professional status. The ideal candidate will teach the equivalent of 6-9 credit hours each semester within the nursing programs including research topics, content in an area of expertise, and supervising undergraduate students during their clinical rotations. Service responsibilities include work with department, college, and/or university committees as well as student advising and mentoring, taking an active role in recruiting, curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation, and making connections with related programs on campus. The ideal candidate should also conduct and publish research in the candidate’s chosen field that would lead to tenure.




Minimum Qualifications 

Doctorate in Nursing or related area; Master’s degree in Nursing; graduate of an accredited college/school of nursing; current unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Oklahoma or eligible to obtain a license; 3 years of clinical experience; ability to communicate with students on multiple levels; eagerness to teach in an undergraduate program; and an enthusiasm for contributing to the university community.


Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years of teaching in an undergraduate and/or graduate program; formal instruction in curriculum, instruction, and evaluation; evidence of a strong research agenda.
