SHIFT: Days (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

Position Summary:

Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, located on Florida's Emerald Coast, seeks an experienced Charge Nurse (RN) to join our Team in ICU! This is a full time role and will work 7a-7p with alternating weekends. The purpose of the Charge Nurse position is to assist the Nurse Manager/Director in providing 24/7 nursing leadership to the nursing unit.

Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (FWBMC) is a Trauma level 2 facility. The ICU holds critical trauma patients , surgical patients, medical patients . This is a fast paced unit. Typicaly patients are sepsis, CRRT, TTM, ventriculostomy , metabolic disorders, post cath patients. Our Intensivist is on site daily. This is a fast paced environment, and we deliver thehighest level of care to our patients. Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

A BSN or MSN is preferred. Other qualifications consideredinclude AA in Nursing or Nursing Diploma

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current FL RN license required or appropriate compactlicensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90days of hire
BLS – AHA Healthcare provider certification current
ACLS within 90 days of hire
TNCC within 90 days of hire
CPI within 90 days of hire

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience required

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Clinical expertise
Exemplary leadership skills
Tactful communication skills and the ability to listen,empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs
Supervision, delegation, conflict management and teambuilding skills.
Flexible and resourceful and able to make decisions quickly
Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skillsnecessary to transcribe physician’s orders
Basiccomputer skills
