Clinical NurseCoordinator (RN) – MED SURGICAL - FT Days (3 shifts weekly; 6-6:30).  KS RN ormulti-state compact license required; 2 years Med Surgical experience and experience ina leadership position preferred.

Clinical NurseCoordinator RN Responsibilities:

·    Under the generalsupervision of the unit’s director or designee the CNC assumes responsibilityfor direction and coordination of all functions in the unit on his/herdesignated shifts. In collaboration with other members of the management team,this individual is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality ofpatient care services provided in unit.


The CNC:

o  Assumes responsibilityfor direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift.

o  Functions as a resourceperson for staff member and assists in necessary education of individualmembers of the nursing staff.

o  Assumes responsibilityfor the overall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty.

o  Makes decisionsregarding activities with these areas based on Administrative OperationalStandards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, andStandards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of themanagement team.

Education:  Graduateof an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Activity in professionalorganizations encouraged. 


Experience:  Two (2)years of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit andleadership/ management experience is preferred.  


Special Qualifications:  Continuing demonstration of clinical andleadership competency. Commitment and understanding of staffingmatrix/productivity standard.  Committedto the goals of the unit, patient safety initiatives and positive patientexperience.


Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Demonstrates goodorganizational skills.  Provides safe andappropriate patient care within the standards of nursing practice.  Displays judgment and superior problemsolving skills.  Communicates positivelyand professionally with all internal and external customers.


Licensure, Certifications, Training:

Currentlylicensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/orhas an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation. BLS. ACLS preferred.
