SHIFT: Nights (rotating weekends)

SCHEDULE: Full-time

Our ER provides 24-hour emergency care to adults and children within the greater Denver area. We offer a wide range of immediate medical services, including heart attack and stroke treatment.
 
Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center (P/SL) provides state-of-the-art, complex medical care in the heart of Denver's Uptown neighborhood. Our hospital and emergency room treat patients from all over the Rocky Mountain region. We offer a range of services, including pediatric, high risk pregnancy, heart care and weight loss solutions.
Our full-service facility also offers a Cancer Center distinguished by the Commission on Cancer as a Center of Excellence, with the largest Bone Marrow Transplant Center in the Rocky Mountain region. P/SL holds centers of excellence designations in neonatal intensive care, spine and joint care and bariatric surgery as well as stroke certification and level IV trauma.
 

Position Summary:  This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children of optimizing the quality of life for all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.  The Adult Clinical Nurse Coordinator will be responsible for developing adult specific policies and competencies in conjunction with the department director.  The ACNC will be responsible for implementation of standards of care, staff orientation and annual competencies within the adult department. 

 
Develop and implements adult specific goals to include: program development, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.  Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of adult patients, as well as in the training and development of staff.  Participates on hospital committees; coordinates unit-specific meetings as directed by the Emergency Department Director.
 
Promotes optimal patient outcomes through organizing, coordinating and monitoring patient care provided in the unit.  Delegated duties consistent with scope of practice, staff competencies, patient needs, department and facility needs.  Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process – assessment, care planning, implementation and reassessment – for identified patient population per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act.  Documents patient care administered per hospital policy.  Coordinates interdisciplinary communication and care within the unit and hospital.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

 

Licensure/Certification/Registration: 

  • Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS – Healthcare provider, ACLS and PALS required upon hire.  
  • TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or equivalent, ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire. 
  • CEN certification preferred.
Education: BSN preferred.  Activity in professional organizations recommended.
 

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of adult emergency nursing experience required.  Minimum of 1-2 years management experience preferred.

 

Special Qualifications: Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Adult Emergency Care.  Supports Standards of Emergency Nursing and utilizing current trends and research based evidence to guide the care and development of policies and procedures.  Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
