POSITIONSUMMARY (InfectionPrevention):Under the supervision of the Director Quality/Risk, the Infection Prevention RN has theresponsibility of assisting in preparing Cache Valley Hospital for JointCommission, CMS, State and other regulatory agency surveys.  Assist to facilitate quality improvementactivities and improvement processes and will assist in developing andimplementing mock surveys and self-assessment tools in collaboration withoperational managers and directors.  Analyzesreports and data such as regulatory agency evaluations, self-assessments, andinvestigations, and develops summaries and recommended action plans.  Coordinates and performs activities relatedto the regulatory surveys.  Responsible forassisting in obtaining the hospital accreditation—ensures availability ofcurrent references of regulatory agency standards and communicates changes tomanagement and staff. Assures hospital policies and procedures followregulatory agency standards and hospital protocols follow hospital policiesincluding plans and evaluations identified by the regulatory agency. Familiarwith and understands medical process, terminology, medications, documentationprocess, and contents of a patient’s medical record, and has the ability toanalyze information as needed.





  • Maintains a current Utah Registered Nurse (RN) license.  Compact license accepted
  • NAMSS certified at CPMSP or CPCS preferred.
  • Current BLS within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS and PALS within 90 days of hire



  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.  BSN preferred.



  • Minimum of three years clinical nursing required.
  • Has knowledge of state regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations. 
  • Cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to progressively manage care delivery across the continuum of care.
  • The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbal and in writing.
