HCA Nurse ResidencyProgram (Cardiac Stepdown Unit)
StaRN Program (12 weeks total):
Our StaRN Program willprovide you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospitalenvironment. It will help you transition out of the classroom setting and ontothe unit by providing the following training:
- 5 weeks classroom, self-study, skills & simulations
- 7 weeks preceptorship
- Certifications: ECG, TeamSTEPPS, BLS/ACLS, CPI
After StaRN, you willtransition into our Professional Development Residency:
- 9 month program factored into a full time position on the unit
- You will learn Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills
- You will collaborate with a mentor to complete an evidence based Capstone Project (4 hours a month)
- Your project has an opportunity to gain recognition by corporate for further recognition

February & March 2020
Additional Informationabout our Cardiac Stepdown Unit:
- You will work on an 18-bed unit with a patient population to include post-cardiac surgery, valve repair, chest pains, coronary artery, cardiothoracic surgery and telemetr; ur nurses utilize cardiac drips and heart monitoring
- Our nurses support patients that age in range from infant to geriatric
- On this unit, you will have the opportunity to observe a cardiac procedure!
- Our nurses main goal is to provide patients with a comforting, safe environment as they recover

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 6 months- BSN preferred
- Applicants can apply and be offered a position prior to passing the NCLEX exam
- Applicants should not have acute care/hospital RN experience
- Previous nursing support or service industry experience preferred
- Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
