HCA Nurse ResidencyProgram (Renal Care Unit)

 

StaRN Program (12 weeks total):

 

Our StaRN Program willprovide you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospitalenvironment. It will help you transition out of the classroom setting and ontothe unit by providing the following training:

  • 5 weeks classroom, self-study, skills & simulations
  • 7 weeks preceptorship
  • Certifications: ECG, TeamSTEPPS, BLS/ACLS, CPI

After StaRN, you willtransition into our Professional Development Residency:

  • 9 month program factored into a full time position on the unit
  • You will learn Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills
  • You will collaborate with a mentor to complete an evidence based Capstone Project (4 hours a month)
  • Your project has an opportunity to gain recognition by corporate for further recognition

Cohort Start Dates:

February & March 2020

 

Additional Informationabout our Renal Care Unit:

  • You will work on an 18-bed stepdown unit 
  • Our unit specializes in the care of acute and chronic kidney patients ranging from acute kidney injury, new start dialysis, kidney transplant, overloaded, peritoneal dialysis, or septic patients to any critical care telemetry patient; all patients require cardiac telemetry monitoring
  • You will work in a fast-pace environment where teamwork, strong critical thinking skills, and aptitude to learn are crucial to your success; previous patient-care experience preferred

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 6 months- BSN preferred
  • Applicants can apply and be offered a position prior to passing the NCLEX exam
  • Applicants should not have acute care/hospital RN experience 
  • Previous nursing support or service industry experience preferred
  • Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
