Must be able to work nights and weekends 7p to 7a. Our need is 2-6 shifts per month

Job Summary and Qualifications
Our Administrative Supervisor Registered Nurses raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. Our House Supervisor represents the Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence and supports the mission, vision, values and philosophy of the Department of Nursing. The House Supervisor promotes, advocates for and supports the nursing staffs primary commitment to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. What You Will Do In This Role:
- Responsible for planning and coordination of appropriate patient placement based upon diagnosis, special needs and acuity
Establishes and maintains collaborative practice and working relationships with all healthcare team members and serves as a liaison for patients, families, physicians, and nursing throughout the placement process
Serves as a liaison between hospital, community and other institutions
Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice
Responsible for calling Administrator On Call (AOC) for appropriate issues
Responsible for obtaining supplies from Materials Management, Physical Therapy and Pharmacy after hours
Knowledgeable of process for adding surgeries and other procedures to schedules after hours
Knowledgeable of resources to use to maintain hospital working environment
Works with agencies to obtain per diem staff and to maintain files on agency and PRN staff
Facilitates all patient transfers to other facilities
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing, BSN required
- Minimum of 5 years of recent nursing experience to include a minimum of 2-3 years in the specialty of critical care preferred
- Current State of TX Nursing License required
- BLS required at time of hire issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- ACLS required at time of hire issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Must be self-directed and employ critical thinking skills
- Must be able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Must have management skills including the ability to problem solve and deal with multiple situations simultaneously and demonstrate initiative
- Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing
- Must have understanding of AIDET methodology and provide service recovery as needed
- Must be a team player and embrace the Medical City McKinney ALWAYS values
- Knowledge of triage is an asset
- Previous experience as a House Supervisor or House Administrator preferred
