RegisteredNurse (RN) InterventionalRadiology (IR)
What you will do in this role:
- Administers medications as ordered and directed by the physician.
- Maintains all crash carts within the Medical Imaging Department
- Inserts Foley catheters as needed. Monitors and assesses patient’s vitalsigns. Thoroughly documents all aspects of nursing care.
- Performs venipuncture as necessary
- Interacts with patient and family to answer questions concerning patientcare. Calls patient prior to appointmentto fully explain and prepare the patient for the procedure. Provide educationregarding radiographic procedures and post-procedure outcomes
- Appropriately documents pain assessment
- Demonstrates competency in observing and documenting patients undersedation. Completes nursing assessment in meditech.
- Ensure Pyxis machines have had narcotic count done daily and that alldiscrepancies will be resolved before ending shift
- Demonstrates appropriate equipment disinfection between patients
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency response, reactions to contrast, andcardiac/respiratory arrest
- ADN required; BSN enrolled
- Current Texas State RN license or compact license
- 1 year Interventional Radiology (IR), Special Procedures experience
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS, ACLS and PALS issued by the American Heart Association required
