Unit Based Information:
  • 12 Labor Beds, 4 antepartum swing beds, 3 ORs, 4 bay PACU, 2 triage rooms
  • Inductions of labor and laboring patients, Scheduled and unscheduled C Sections, cerclage, D&C, Postpartum Tubal Ligations, External Cephalic Versions, triage
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio- 1:1-2 depending on the stage of labor, 1:3-4 antepartums if they are holding there, 1:1 In all aspects of the OR
  • Development:BCLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, Fetal Monitoring every 2 years (Basic, Intermediate and Advanced), Baby Friendly Education Required with hands on Lactation Rotation, Bereavement Training

Qualifications

Qualifications:

We are searching for a Registered Nurse for a PRN shift (As Needed) position on our state-of-the-art Women's Services/Labor & Delivery. The L&D RN is responsible to the Nursing Director/Charge Nurse for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process. Apply your nursing knowledge derived from education and experience as foundation for patient care, communication, and documentation on the unit.


Essential Core Functions:

Provide quality patient care, in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and department.

Maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families and the community.

Prescribes, delegates and coordinates all nursing care provided to assigned patients and is responsible for meeting all standards associated with performance, nursing practice and nursing care.


Education:

  • A graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required - Level entry training may be a Diploma Program in Nursing, an Associate's Degree in Nursing or a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

License/Certification:

  • An active State of Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) License is required
  • A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required

Experience:

  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Previous patient care experience is preferred
