General Surgery at Forest

  • Provides care to adults who are hospitalized with a wide variety of conditions, including surgeries ranging from gall bladder, hip, knee, neck, shoulder, kidney transplants and trauma
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 5:1
  • Has the ability to care for 26 patients at a time
  • Takes pride in the fact that we provide care with respect for human dignity. We believe each patient has the right to receive quality care based on individual needs and age requirements. Patients and their families are involved in establishing priorities for care that best meet the patients’ needs
  • Staff members regularly participate in educational activities to maintain competence, gain new knowledge and develop advanced skills
  • Functions as a remote telemetry unit where cardiac rhythms are monitored

Clinical Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Responsiblefor the clinical supervision of the unit, by managing the nursing care of assignedpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols ofthe healthcare organization, as well as assisting staff in providing patientcare and services as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with staff,peer, Physicians, Nursing Mgt and external and internal customers.
  • Collaborateswith the Director to utilize quality improvement as basis to improve Unit/Departmentalprocess.
  • Assists in the management of expensesto stay within budgetary guidelines.
  • Assists in maintaining Unit readinessfor regulatory surveys.
  • Role models professional and clinicalleadership on the unit.
  • Assiststhe Director in providing opportunities for employee development.

Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing

Preferred: BSN, Professional Certification


Required: One year experience as RN with demonstrated proficiencyleadership and management skills 

Preferred: Twoyears’ experience as RN in charge nurse role 

Licensure / Certification

Required: Current Registered Nurse License in this state

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) & ACLS
