The RN Resident is aregistered nurse participating in a specified training program which isstandardized based on area of specialization. The training includesorientation, combined with unit based, precepted clinical experiences anddidactic instruction. The RN Resident is under the directsupervision of their Preceptor and Supervisor Nursing Unit. According tohospital policies and procedures, by the direction of their Preceptor, theImmersion Resident assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care forassigned patients.

Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting.

EDUCATION REQUIRED (Minimum formal academic training which typically provides the knowledge and skills necessary for successful job performance. Note in Other if experience may be substituted.) Graduation from an accredited/approved school of professional nursing, less than 6 month. Completion of ADN or BSN degree. ADN Graduates: Enrollment in a RN to BSN program is required within 1 year of hire date. Completion of BSN Program required within 3 years of enrollment.

All critical care Registered Nurses will be required to obtain additional ceritfications (e.g. PALS,

ACLS, TNCC) in accordance with assigned critical care unit RN job description.
