Description:

ThePCC Nursesupervises nursing service activities in assigned nursing unit for the durationof the assigned shift or in the absence of nursing management. The taskand responsibilities of this position include:


  • Participatesactively in the planning and distribution of patient assignments
  • Evaluates theeffectiveness of care and addresses any issues that affect the desired patientoutcomes
  • Supports nursingstaff in communication with physicians to include accepting doctors' orders andcommunicating patient condition
  • Facilitates theprocess of reporting patient status to the following shift of nursingpersonnel
  • Manages thenursing care of assigned patients in accordance with established policies,procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization
  • Administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs
  • Providesrespiratory and ventilator management and monitoring for patients
  • Serves as theprimary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Monitors, recordsand communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerizeddocumentation systems
  • Orients andmentors new staff members

Qualifications

  • Current licensureas an RN or
  • Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State LicensingRequirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and durationprovisions)
  • Currentcertification as a BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS and PALS.
  • Graduate of anaccredited school of professional nursing.
  • Minimum of 1 yearof clinical nursing experience.
  • Previous chargenurse experience preferred.
  • Customer serviceabilities including effective listening skills.
  • Critical thinkingskills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in afast paced environment.
  • Ability toperform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting,kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
