SwedishMedical Center, part of HCAs HealthONE,is located in the south metro Denver area where it has been a proud member ofthe community for more than 110 years. Hereis what you can expect from being an Injury Prevention Coordinator with us:

  • TheInjury Prevention Coordinator is responsible for coordination, implementationand evaluation of injury prevention activities that support the mission ofSwedish Medical Center, community needs, and meet the requirements forverification and designation as a Level I Trauma Center.
  • Identifiesand analyzes injury and outcome trends to develop programs or collaborate withexisting programs.
  • Participatesin prevention research as appropriate.
  • Servesas a liaison between the trauma service injury prevention activities andcommunity outreach injury prevention activities in related departments.
  • Performsother related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • Current licensure in the State ofColorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure.
  • Child Passenger Safety Technicianwithin six months of hire.
Education:
  • BSNor Bachelors Degree in a related health promotion field preferred.
Experience:
  • Preferclinical experience with trauma patients.
  • Musthave ability to develop programs and present them to various ages ofparticipants. If no previous experiencewith program development, must have three years recent (within past four years)Emergency Department or Critical Care experience, preferably in a trauma center.
  • Experiencewith injury prevention and community health promotion desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Must have effective verbalcommunication skills in order to interact in a clear, concise manner withstaff, physicians, administration and community members.
  • Must be comfortable with publicspeaking and teaching.
  • Computer skills to include PowerPoint,Excel and word processing.
  • Typing skills sufficient to completethe job in a timely manner.
  • Must be skilled in time management inorder to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks.
