The Woman's Hospital ofTexas opened in 1976 andever since has remained the state's premier facility dedicated solely to thehealth of women and newborn infants. Located near the Texas Medical Center,Woman’s offers 397 licensed beds, including a NICU (neonatal intensive careunit) and a full range of women’s health services and newborn infants.

 

More than 650board-certified physicians at Woman's offer their expertise and an outstandinglevel of quality care in the areas of gynecology, obstetrical care, high-riskpregnancy and minimally invasive surgery.

 

The Woman’s Hospital ofTexas is currentlylooking for a Mother Baby, RN.

 

What you will do in thisrole:

  
  • Under the supervision ofthe Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Manager, responsible and accountable forindividual nursing practice and, when applicable, appropriately delegates andsupervises tasks to provide optimum patient care. 
  • Follows facility andOSHA safety rules and procedures; as well as HIPAA regulations.
  • Participates inestablishing, maintaining, and improving patient’s health care goals throughpatient assessment, planning and implementation of nursing interventions andevaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Identifies and assistswith opportunities for performance improvement activities on the unit and withother service areas.
  • Accurately andcompletely documents all aspects of care given.
  • Demonstrates fiscalresponsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste (oftime and supplies) and promoting cost effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates the abilityto be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights ofthe patient.
  • Interactions withpatients and colleagues demonstrate compassion and respect for the inherentdignity, worth, and uniqueness of every individual, unrestricted byconsiderations of social or economic status or cultural beliefs.
  • Communicate effectivelywith other care providers (physicians, nurses, business office, and medicalrecords) to provide for continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of thecustomers we serve.
  • Demonstrates ability tofulfill requirements of attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping practices.
  • Behaviors andinteractions demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative andmotivation to achieve the goals of the unit.
  • Consults and coordinateswith health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients’(both mother and infant) care plans.
  • Involves and educatesmother and family/significant others in implementing best practices for motherand infant care and breastfeeding.
  • Supports Texas 10-Stepsto Successful Breastfeeding 
  • To uphold the standardsof the profession and organization and practice ethically and with integrity.

Qualifications

What you will do in thisrole: 

 
·   BSN, required by 01/01/2020

·   Current RN license in Texas and/or currentCompact License, required

·   BCLS certified, required
