Additional information about our Operating Room:

15 OR Suite 

Teamwork environment where you will be responsible for helping everyone in the department (i.e. Scrub Cases)

Types of surgeries conducted: Da Vinci, Trauma, Ortho, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Vascular, Pediatrics, Urology, Plastics, and General Surgery

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

  1. Manages the daily Operating Room Schedule efficiently to ensure all decisions, actions and team performance meets the needs of key customers and stakeholders.
  2. Assists all Staff Members to achieve their potential as members of an effective team through innovative management practices.
  3. Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, with all members of the Healthcare Team, customers and key stakeholders.
  4. Cultivates and maintains strategic relationships with all key internal/external stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to Physicians, staff and community members.
  5. Responsible for the coordination and abstraction of quality data meeting reviews.
  6. Responsible for Physician call schedule for assigned departments.
  7. Maintain optimal work flow and physician engagement.
  8. Develop education and clinical pathways for nursing and facility care partners.  
  9. Maintains Departmental activities within budget and suggests/implements cost reduction activities.
  10. Maintains Departmental documentation, QI, infection control, Hospital Policies and accreditation standards, including JCAHO, VA Health Department, and MBSAQIP.
  11. Assumes responsibility for own growth as a professional including participation in a professional organization, attendance to professional seminars and through formal educational activities.
  12. Actively participates in Hospital and community activities to ensure that the community remains engaged in weight loss management and support opportunities.

Qualifications

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • Current Registered Nurse License in this state
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)

 

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Required
  • BSN - Preferred
  • CNOR certification (preferred) - HCA will pay for certification and bonus will be offered upon completion

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two years of current OR Nursing in which leasdership and management abilities have been demonstrated - Required
  • Previous Management Experience - Preferred
