Under the general supervision of theunit’s director or designee the ClinicalNurse Coordinator assumes responsibility for direction and coordination ofall functions in the unit on his/her designated shifts. In collaboration withother members of the management team, this individual is responsible for theongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in unit.

The CNC:
  1. Assumes responsibility for directionand coordination of all functions during the designated shift.
  2. Functions as a resource person forstaff member and assists in necessary education of individual members of thenursing staff.
  3. Assumes responsibility for theoverall quality of nursing care provided when s/he is on duty
  4. Makes decisions regarding activitieswith these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, NursingAdministrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care forthe unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

This position supports the missionof Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital of optimizing quality of life of all thoseserved by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needsof the whole person.

  • RN License in the State ofColorado. 
  • Compact license acceptable but mustobtain Colorado RN License within 90 days of hire.
  • Current BLS certification through theAmerican Heart Association.


  • Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Activity in professional organizationsencouraged. 
  • Two (2) years of clinical practice inthe clinical specialty of his/her unit and leadership/ management experience ispreferred.  

Special Qualifications

  • Continuing demonstration of clinicaland leadership competency.
  • Commitment and understanding ofstaffing matrix/productivity standard. 
  • Committed to the goals of the unit,patient safety initiatives and positive patient experience.
