Eastside Medical Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) Float –Intensive Care / Critical Care Unit


·        Performs duties inaccordance with unit specific standards of care and  evidence by documentation,observation and competencies.

·        Assessment completedwithin time frame appropriate to population served, each shift and as needed bypatient condition.

·        Nursing Plan of Careis developed to meet individual patient needs according to nursing standards ofcare/practice for population served.

·        Plan is updated withany change in patient condition.

·        Formulates and takesnursing actions to implement plan of care: records actions and patientresponse.

·        Patient/Familyinvolvement is indicated on plan of care if appropriate.

·        Patient teaching isplanned and implemented.

·        Delivers care withrespect to the individuals spiritual and cultural needs.

·        Changes in patient’sphysiological and behavioral status are recognized, documented as they occur.

·        Adverse response tocare or treatment is recognized, documented and reported to the physician.

·        Hand Off Communicationoccurs at shift change, between departments, upon transfer and discharge.

·        Provides patienteducation and documentation of understanding regarding tests, procedures,equipment and medications.

·        Manages pain throughassessment (with appropriate pain scale) intervention, re-assessment withinappropriate time period.

·        Implements orders intimely manner.

·        Meets physical andpsychosocial needs for an assigned group of patients.

·        Patient care isprioritized and delegated based on patient needs.

·        Provides patient carewith consideration of professional ethics. Utilizes hospital ethics’ policiesappropriately.

·        Maintainsresponsibility for patients assigned to LPNs or Nurse Technicians (directstheir activities within their scope of practice.

·        Delivers care in asafe and effective manner.

·        Delivers medicationaccording to policy; Scans and performs Medication Reconciliation.

·        Follows policies andprocedures regarding safety and precautions, uses all safety devices andprocesses.

·        Ensures accuracy inscanning and documentation of meds

·        Participates inprocess improvement activity standards.

·        Maintainspatient/employee confidentiality and privacy; HIPAA.



·        Current Georgia RNlicense

·        Graduate of anaccredited school of nursing

·        BLS – American HeartAssociation

·        ACLS

·        CPI (required within60 days of hire)

·        Good communicationskills

·        Good computer skills

·        Critical Careexperience required
