The RN FLOAT POOLposition supports the mission of North Suburban Medical Center to deliver safe,quality, evidence-based patient care that is compliant with NSMC/HealthONE/HCApolicies and guidelines. The Registered Nurse must be able todemonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in the care of his/her patients. Eachservice also requires specialized skills. The delivery of care is based oncriteria that is age appropriate and is based on the physical, psychosocial,cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. The Registered Nurse may rotate to otherareas other than his/her normallyassigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/shehas demonstrated competency The Registered Nurse performs delegated dutiesconsistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophyand overall plan of care delivery at NSMC. The Registered Nurse displayspositive support for NSMC as well as the entire HealthONE organization and iscommitted to the process of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

Education
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN desirable.
Licensure/Certification
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Colorado. (May work with a current RN compact licensefrom another state for the 1st 90 days of employment).
  • Current BCLS and ACLS Certification for all Float Pool RegisteredNurses required.
  • Additional certifications required based on specialty unit served.
  • ICU-TNCC required
  • Emergency Department-TNCC, PALS required; proof of previousreceipt of ENPC
  • PACU- PALS required
  • Pediatrics- PALS required; STABLE preferred
  • OB-NRP required
Experience
  • Two years acute care/ specialty nursing isdesirable; able to articulate and demonstrate appropriate nursing theory andpractice.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Standards ofNursing Practice at NSMC.
  • Displays appropriate judgment and problem solving skills.
  • Communicates positively and professionally with all internal andexternal customers.
