Position description
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective, ongoing, data-driven quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) program according to the specific regulations of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for the specialty. Serves as a member of the Leadership team with a primary focus on quality improvement, planning and implementation of policies and systems. Assists Leadership team in Joint Commission accreditation efforts. Is a member of the Oversight Committee as QAPI Coordinator. The RN Quality Coordinator supports the specialty in analyzing current practice patterns, identifying areas for improvement through ongoing audits of interdisciplinary team clinical practices, and developing methods to help implement and evaluate improvement changes. The RN Quality Coordinator provides system support to all staff in the areas of practice analysis, analytics, and improvement. The RN Quality Coordinator provides facilitation, data collection and reporting of quality improvement activities. Meets annually and reports quarterly to the Clinical Practice Quality Oversight Subcommittee. The Coordinator provides education and training regarding quality improvement, accreditation standards, internal process improvements, and external regulatory requirements (i.e., TJC, CMS, etc.). This person oversees contracts with skilled nursing facilities, providers of durable medical equipment, pharmacy for the specialty, as well as database vendors (i.e., Allscripts, Curaspan). (013140)
Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree in nursing and a Master's degree in nursing, business or health care administration. Minimum of five years clinical experience. Must be willing to obtain advanced training and/or certification as the quality improvement environment requires.
Additional qualifications
Ambulatory care, home care or experience in the specialty is helpful. Demonstrated leadership qualities with exceptional oral and written communication skills required. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision. Must also possess the ability to work well with others in a creative and challenging work environment. Routine travel will be required within the region or to external meetings. Knowledge of the Mayo Health System is beneficial. Must have broad-based knowledge of office support and computer systems along with spreadsheets, databases, statistics, and software. Knowledge and experience with continuous improvement concepts required.
License or certification
Must possess a current RN license by applicable State requirements. Current driver's license essential.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2,832.80, based on a full-time position.
