Position Type:

PRN II Defined:

(Earn extra $1.50/hour PRN Differential) plus other eligible shift differentials

Work Requirements:

*4 shifts per 4 week schedule (2 have to be on weekend)
*1 Major Holiday (New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day)
*1 Minor Holiday (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
*2 Difficult to Staff Days: Super Bowl, Valentines Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Fall Break (UEA), Halloween, Day After Thanksgiving, New Years Eve


Job Responsibilities:

The Surgical Unit Registered Nurseis responsible for the delivery of nursing care to the general orthopedic/surgical populations utilizing the nursing process. Special populations include vascular, wound care, GI, ophthalmology, and bariatric surgeries. Oversees and directs the care of LPNs and assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients. When the need arises, the RN will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required) (BSN preferred)
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
  • IdahoRN License or RN in a Compact State (required)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
  • completion from accredited Registered Nurse program of nursing
EXPERIENCE:
  • One-year experience in acute care (preferred)
